The History Musuem of Shaanxi
Located in the vicinity of the Greater Wild Goose Pagoda in Xi'an, it is a modern, state-class museum with an area about 70,000 square meters and a floor space of 56,000 square meters. The imposing, elegant museum in the style of the Tang Dynasty architecture is a combination of the classical and modern architectural arts. It has in its collection 1 13,000 unearthed historical relics, of which 3,000 are now on display. Most of the exhibited items are rare treasures. There are 40 tomb murals, each with an exquisite composition and bright colors.

The Xi'an Museum of Stone Tablets
It is a garden-like museum in the style of classical architecture inside the Confucian Temple in Fuxue Lane, Xi'an. On display over the museum's more than 4,000 square meters of floor are 80,000 historical relics, which are divided into three sections: the Exhibition of History, Stone Tablets, and the Art of Stone Sculptures.

The Banpo Museum of Xi'an
The museum is built on the Banpo Ruins in Banpo Village on the eastern outskirts of Xian. As China's first museum of historical ruins, it shows a typical settlement of the matrilineal commune in the Huanghe River Valley 6,000 year ago. The remains that belong to the Yangshao Culture are valuable data for the study of the primitive society in China.

Xi'an is a world's renowned historical and cultural city and has a long history of the cooking culture. Well-known restaurants and cooks have appeared one after another who sorted out more than 120 Tang Dyanstystyle recipes and invented some 100 Shaanxi-style recipes, forming two cookiing styles -the traditional and the modern. The former is characterized by he Tang Dynasty cuisine and the latter, by the Shaanxi cuisine. The traditional recipes include such delicacies as Roast Piglet and Chicken in Bottle Gourd. The local flavor snacks include Steamed Bun Soaked in Mutton Soup and the Fan-Family Cured Meat Broth. And the inventions include a Feast of Van-Style Dumplings and Chang'anbajingyan (A Banquet of Scenes of Chang'an).

Defachang
The restaurant is to be found in the Bell Tower Square of Van. As a timehonored restaurant in China, it offers a feast of dumplings. The dumplings it prepares, a concentration of the ancient, modern, royal court, and folk styles, come out in more than 180 varieties, each with its own style and taste. The restaurant also offers various quality Chinese food.

Xi'an Restaurant
Located in the middle section of East Avenue of Van, the restaurant prepares typical Shaanxi cuisine, known especially for its royal court-style recipes, snacks, and herbal medicine-flavored dishes.

The Xian Tang Dynasty Music Palace
Located on Chang'an Road North, Xian, this splendid yet unsophisticated restaurant incorporates entertainment with catering. It is cited as a Chinesestyle night club, where tourists may try the taste of delicious food while watching the Tang Dynasty Chang'an Dance with Music Accompaniment.

A piece of Qin embroidery Shaanxi's Famous and Special Products Qin (Shaanxi) Embroidery
Folk embroidery is a common handicraft in Shaanxi Province. Embroideries from northern and central Shaanxi are simple in form and bright in color, and those from southern Shaanxi are exquisite, beautiful, and of fine workmanship. The Qin embroidery compromises the merits of traditional Chinese techniques and the local features. Major products include tablecloths, pillow cases, and cushions.

Yaozhou Porcelain
The Yaozhou Kiln was a well-known blue porcelain producer in northern China during the Song Dynasty. At present, the kilns in Yaozhou mainly put out porcelain pieces for daily use decoration. The products maintain the varied textures of the Song Dynasty's porcelain.

Imitations of the Tri-colored Glazed Pottery of the Tang Dynasty
The three-colored glazed pottery for decoration purpose made during the Tang Dynasty is referred to as "tangsancai". Artisans in Van and Qianxian, by relying on the particularly favorable historical conditions, succeeded in making imitations of Tang-style tricolored porttery figurines, horses, camels, and utencils.

A scene from a Qingqiang operaQinqiang opera
It is the main opera of Shaanxi Province. It is said that the opera was called the Qin emperor's opera during the Tang period and was later renamed Qinqiang opera. It has a unque style, a rich list of plays, and a deep influence and holds an important position in the annals of Chinese operas. The Qinqiang opera, Beijing (Peking) opera, and Yuju (Henan) opera are the three major operas in northern China.

The Tang Dynasty Dance with Music Accompaniment
People at the Shaanxi Provincial Song and Dance Ensemble composed the dance by sorting out historical data and then put it on at the Tang Music Palace. The musicians present the music with the Tang Dynasty-style musical instruments, and the dancers wear a Tang Dynasty-style robe with long white silk sleeves. The most famous item is the Rainbow Skirt and Feathered Coat Dance.

The Tang Dynasty Dance with Music AccompanimentThe Northern Shaanxi Yangko
The Yangko dance falls into two categories: the Grand Yangko and Tichangzi. The former is a collective song and dance performance given in a square. The performance is often accompanied with the lion, dragon, and boat dances. Tichangzi dancers must be even in number, with the male dancers holding colored fans and the female dancers waving colored silk ribbons.

The Northern Shaanxi Yangko DanceThe Ansai Waist Drum Dance
The dance finds its origin in Ansai County and is known for its great momentum and sonorous rhythm. The dancers, with a white towel tied around their heads and in laced suits, look brilliant and impressive. Each has a drum tied to his or her waist and dances with joy amidst the beating of drums and gongs.
